Maize Baseball is back!

The Maize name originates from the glory days of the Maize and Blue while at Michigan.  Uniforms will be consistent with the Michigan color scheme and style.  The Maize Baseball team first formed in 2002 when the 16U team mainly comprised with 14U players went 25-1-1 and ranked number one in power and runs scored and runs allowed ratio. 

Cypress Infield Academy is starting a new tradition in the Cypress area for premiere level players in the 9U division.  This is not “Daddy Ball” as no coaches will have players on the team.  The team will be led by Steve Finken and coached by former collegiate players Kevin Crawford and Brandon Finken.  Kevin played his collegiate baseball at Lamar and East Texas while Brandon just finished his career at Blinn College.  The Cypress Infield Academy is starting with this 9U team and plans to bring on teams following the success of this team in the 9U level for years to come. 

The team will be comprised with talented 9U players in the Cypress area and practices will be held at the Cypress Infield Academy.  Team will practice twice a week and each player will receive two individual lessons per month.  We will also play in 4-5 tournaments in the fall and compete in the double header league on Sunday’s in the CFSA.

Team Try Outs:

Due to the request of many other age groups of boys we are expanding our teams to include a 16U, 12U, 11U, 10U and a 9U teams for the fall program. The fall program is a developmental program designed to prepare those that want to increase their skill level for the Spring Season.
Practices will be held at the Cypress Infield Academy twice a week and each player will receive one private lesson per month. Program starts August 15th and runs through December 15th. We plan to play in Sunday double header leagues and participate in a few local tournaments.

Cost will be $540 per player for the 4 month program.

Try outs will be held on Saturday August 7th and times will be by age group as follows:

9U at 9:00am
10U at 10:30
11U at 12:00
12U at 1:30
16U at 3:00

If you can not make the August 7th try out times, please contact me prior to the try outs to arrange an individual work out. Individual work outs are $25.
All current Maize Baseball Players must re-tryout and are not guaranteed to make a team.

Cost: 

The cost is $135 per player per month.  This cost only covers training time and does not include uniforms, bags, shoes, and tournament or league fees etc.  Additional costs will be evenly distributed among all players.
